Wen Shien Tai

Dr. Wen Shien Tai is a Plastic Surgery Unaccredited Registrar at Western Health, where she is honing her skills in reconstructive surgery. Born in Malaysia, she began her medical education abroad at the University of Tasmania with a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS), graduating in 2019. Her surgical career started with an internship at Launceston General Hospital and subsequently worked as a surgical resident and plastic surgery registrar at Western Health and Monash Health, acquiring broad experience in various surgical specialties, general medicine and also emergency medicine. Beyond her clinical practice, Dr. Tai is engaged in community service as a volunteer musician at her local church and has been involved in health promotion programs for preschoolers and early intervention programs for disabled children. Her fluency in English, Mandarin, and Malay enables her to effectively communicate with a diverse range of patients. In her personal time, Dr. Tai enjoys playing badminton, hiking, and exploring Asian cuisine through cooking. She is also skilled in playing multiple musical instruments, including the piano, guitar, bass guitar, and drums.
